Khan Academy
This unique school reaches millions of learners in more than 190 countries and is now available in 50 languages. The Khan Academy is an online school, a global classroom, and a library that offers free instructional videos and over 70,000 exercises, articles and quizzes. It covers subjects such as math, science, computing, history, arts, humanities, and economics and offers free tools for teachers and parents who wish to track the learning progress of their students.
‘‘Education is a human right. Every child deserves the chance to learn. We are a nonprofit school because we believe in free, world-class education for everyone, anywhere. With Khan Academy, teachers can identify gaps in their student’s understanding and tailor instructions to meet the need of every child.’’
From the humble beginnings of teaching his cousin, founder Sal Khan has developed the Academy into a global 150 people organization with more than 120 million registered users. As a nonprofit organization, Khan Academy relies on donations from companies and individuals. For more information, check out their website.
