Sudbury Valley School
Founded in 1968 by a group of parents and educators in Framingham, Massachusetts, the school’s philosophy is based on the belief that individual freedom is the foundation for children to flourish. Every student should have a choice of what, when, how, and with whom they learn. The Sudbury model of education is used in about 80 schools around the world and based on the same principle that students are responsible for their own education, their learning methods, their evaluation, and their learning environment.
‘’ We do not encourage students to follow particular paths, nor do we provide assessments of their performance. Rules to protect individual liberty are made by all community members through the School Meeting, and the social order is protected by a peer judicial system.’’
Students may receive a diploma if they select internal diploma processes.
