Self-directed Learning

Antwerp International School

In IB schools around the world, the MYP personal project offers students the chance to research, document and present a project of their choice. Students create project proposals, plan their time and materials, record developments, and collaborate, communicate and reflect about their learning.

At Antwerp International School, the personal project is also used to showcase and celebrate the students’ creativity, drive and passion. This inspiring video introduces some of the innovative projects and approaches developed at AIS recently. Students designed an electric go-kart, created a project allowing the laptop to be directed through gestures like waving hands, or taught people how to use a telescope and shared photos taken from space.
