Entrepreneurship
Nehru World School
Nehru World School (NWS) in India developed the entrepreneurship programme ‘Start-Up SuperStars’. Students can put forward a business idea, which they first prototype and then present to the class. The class becomes the ‘fish tank’ and judges the idea whether it’s sustainable, unique and scalable. The students have to write a business plan, balance sheets, promotional work and they reflect on the learning outcomes throughout the year. At the end of the year the school showcases the best ideas and the class can decide what they do with the proceeds, either give it to charity, invest it in a new project or organise a party. This project promotes many of the desired skills and competencies NWS students need today and in the future. The school is currently in talks with Amazon whether the students can have an e –shop, so they can learn how to do business online.
