Hudson Lab School
The Hudson Lab School, located in Westchester County, New York in the village of Hastings-on-Hudson, opened its doors in 2017. The HLS philosophy is centered around children’s natural love for learning and focuses on project-based learning, nurturing students’ curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
‘‘Our students are the protagonists in their own learning with teachers serving as organizers, guides and sources of inspiration. Rather than focus on school readiness skills, we help students build the life skills to adapt and change and grow into the people they aspire to grow into.’’
Together with Stacey Seltzer, founder Cate Han, a social entrepreneur, set up the school realizing that traditional school models don’t reach far enough to promote life skills like a passion for learning, a growth mindset, grit, empathy, collaboration or entrepreneurship.
Hudson Lab School is a unique place where students are highly engaged and self-drive their learning.
